Disclaimer: I am young so I replaced the swear word for a word I say when listening to this song. No interpretations are incorrect :)

In the 'Beyond The Video' video they stated "The video is about love, and not wanting to die from it" but I think the meaning is much deeper. The statement "This is gospel" means "This is good news" according to a simple Google search. "This is gospel for the fallen ones, locked away in permanent slumber" of course "fallen ones" and "permanent slumber" means death and with the Google definition of "gospel" the line can translate to "This is good news, for death".

"Assembling their philosophies from broken memories" according to Wikipedia there is a philosophy of pain (link to original Wikipedia webpage: (philosophy) )
Brendon or anyone else suffering from any sort of pain could be spoken about in this line. "Broken memories" can mean any sort of more pain.

In the background you can here people saying "This is the beat of my heart, this is the beat of my heart" this line could mean anything about love.

"There gnashing teeth and criminal tongues conspire against the odds" can mean different ways or forces of pain conspiring or coming together to hurt or send pain to whom ever is being talked about in this song.

"But they haven't seen the best of us yet" maybe Brendon or, again, whom ever is being talked about is trying to fight back against the "Gnashing teeth and criminal tongues" that are trying to hurt them.

"If you love me let me go, if you love me let me go" Maybe whom ever is being talked about is asking the "Gnashing teeth and criminal tongues" to stop what ever they may be doing to the person getting hurt. When I say 'Someone/Whom ever getting hurt' I mean mentally or physically.

"Cause these words are knives and often leave scars" could mean the words the hurting person is receiving is hurting them even more. "The fear of falling apart" could mean that whom is hurting has a fear of losing their other, either that be a lover or a best friend. "Truth be told I never was yours" could mean, if the song was about love, the hurting person is telling someone else that he/she may already be in a relationship. That line could also mean that he/she is saying to someone who thought they were together that they were never together. "The fear, the fear of falling apart" is restating that the hurting person has a fear of losing there other.

"This is the beat of my heart, this is the beat of my heart" is just restating that the line has to do with loving someone.

"This is gospel for the vagabonds, ne'er do wells and insufferable people". "This is gospel for the vagabonds" would translate to "This is good news for the wanderers who may not have a job or home". "Ne'er do wells and insufferable people" would translate to "Lazy, irresponsible and unpleasant people" which would mean Brendon is pointing out lazy, irresponsible, and unpleasant people.

"Confessing their apostasies" would translate to "Confessing about abandoning political belief". "Led away by imperfect imposters" explains itself, the people Brendon is talking about in the line "Confessing their apostasies" were led away by imposters or were told what to do by imposters that were imperfect.

"Don't try to sleep through the end of the world" probably means don't try to end your life, live it to its fullest. "And bury me alive" could mean don't try to end the hurting persons life, let them live. "I wont give up without a fight" the hurting person is not going to give in and just let you kill them, there are going to fight back if its the last thing they do.

Then the chorus repeats and it would still mean as I said above.

Then the words "The fear of falling apart" and "This is the beat of my heart" repeat multiple times which could mean that he/she is dying and they are afraid of letting there loved one(s) go.

Then in the video, the person hurting (Brendon) dies.
